Hope you had a Merry Christmas

It has been a while! As usual! But I finally put the blog app on my iPad so it should be simple to post a blog entry more often :)
I had a lovely Christmas with time with friends and lots of presents! I got a $100 give voucher from my husband for Arnold's scrapbook store which I look forward to spending :)
These are my latest creations,I still enjoy my dylusions  ink sprays, they are so bright and pretty.

I still enjoy my dylusions  ink sprays, they are so bright and pretty. I made lots of Christmas cards too but I won't be showing them today. These vintage cards are what I've made in my desire to do anything BUT Christmas!!!!!! Have a great new year everyone!

Something New

Well yesterday I went to the craft and quilt fair and had a lot of fun :)

I wasn't expecting to try something new but the cards I saw made with these  Dylusion Inks looked pretty cool so I bought three colours to see how I would go.

This is what I made. Do you like it? I sprayed the ink on white card stock and let it dry, then stamped it. I also sprayed some on old book pages to make the flowers, which I then stamped too. It's fun just to try something different and I will make some more. I aslo bought some 3d stamp paint, which I have to figure out how to use! But when I make something new with that I will show you! I had a great week, it was my birthday, and I had a ton of fun spending my birthday money at the fair!

Wow I made a card!

For some reason my card making has dropped off but my craft shopping has seemed to increase!! What is with that??

This card was very easy to make :) and didn't take long once I decided what to do! I find the Boho Blossoms punch makes my favorite layered flowers and it does it so easily!
Ingredients:
Gumball Green cardstock
Very Vanilla cardstock
Raspberry Ripple cardstock
Raspberry Ripple Ink Pad
Stamp Petite Pairs
Print Poetry Compact Paper Stack (retired) Substitutes - stamp a design using Raspberry Ripple ink on very vanilla, or use the 2012-2014 In Colour Designer Series Paper Stacks
Boho Blossoms Punch
Bird Builder Punch
Designer Frames embossing folder
Big Shot
SU paper trimmer and scorer
paper snips
Adhesives -snail, mini glue dots, dimensionals

Instructions
Cut A4 cardstock in half, fold piece in centre using scorer
Cut designer paper to fit just within edges on top of card
Punch out 8 sets of flowers using boho blossom punch and 5 leaf stems with bird builder.
Layer 3 sets of flowers starting with 2 large flowers, 1 medium and 1 small, and 3 with 2 medium flowers and 1 small. Then and use glue dots to stick them together. Scrunch flowers inward and pull back out to get the look I've gone for.
Put very vanilla and raspberry ripple card stock through the big shot (separately!) with frame embossing folder. Tear around vanilla frame leaving about a half a centimetre border and then cut around raspberry border.
Cut a very vanilla rectangle to fit inside frame, and stamp sentiment.
Now it's time to put it all together!
Using your snail adhesive, tape specialty paper on top of card and then tape vanilla frame in centre.
Use dimensionals to layer the raspberry frame and vanilla sentiment.
Glue leaves and flowers in desired position and you’re done! I added red pearls to my flower centres, which I got from my local store.
Hope your card turns out how you like it!
Thanks for looking
Sam :)

It's a bit chilly today!

Hello

At least the sun is shining today though, it makes the cool weather much more pleasant!
I know its been a few weeks but I have been soooo busy! Well it feels that way! I had an exam due this week, so last week that's all I did. I may have made a card, I can't remember! But I have made a few recently, here they are :)

This one has a pretty fancy inside which I don't usually do, but I was inspired by the latest copy of Australian Simply Cards (which also came with a gorgeous paper stack, you should get it!) which had some great ideas.

This was also from copying a card in the mag.

I also bought a couple of digi stamps, this one from Sweet Pea Stamps. She coloured in nicely :)

And this one was cased from a Pinterest card, it's so great for ideas!
Otherwise nothing exciting too report but hopefully in the next month or two I will have some very exciting news ;) or unexciting news :(
I will let you know! My girls are all good and growing up fast with my youngest turning 11 next month!!! Wow, no wonder I can't remember what babies are like too look after! Bye for now

Hi All

How are you all?
I am very well, although I must admit, looking forward a teeny bit for school to go back! It has been hard to study while the kids are around, it's way more fun to play computer games! I did make a card today, I used a "shaker frame" from stampin up to make a glitter filled window. And for me glitter = Christmas! Never to soon to think about it, even though I have no idea why I love snow flakes for Christmas when we all are melting at that time of the year!
Have a happy day :)

Pretty things

So today was another crafting day, well this afternoon anyway. This morning we went to a friends house and my 3 kids along with NINE other kids iced cupcakes. Fun and messy!

I made this card with Graphic 45 Secret Garden.

Have I said how gorgeous Graphic 45 papers are before? They really are beautiful! The hardest part is picking which side to use as the papers are all double sided. Sometimes it really hurts to use it!!! This is what was on the other side of the calander peice.

So cute! At least there are two sheets in the stack :)
I also needed some craft retail therapy and I bought a Spellbinders nestability set, these are gorgeous frames.

But what no one tells you is that you have to pop out each little hole with a pointy thing like a pin. It's quite time consuming! Look how tiny they are!
And here are some more cards for your veiwing pleasure :) This one I made a few weeks ago while crafting with a friend.

This one I just made, with a new stamp from the Prima Fairy Ryme collection. I can't resist fairies!!  Especially ones I get to colour.
And this card I made ages ago. I was going to enter it into a competition but didn't. It also uses Graphic 45, Sugar Plum Fairy.
I am on a pretty crafty roll right now so you can look forward to seeing some more cards soon!

Sweet Holiday Time....

Well the first day of holidays always is! But right now I am a little tired after taking the girls out for shopping and lunch. Maybe I went a tiny bit over budget but don't worry, we are all happy!
In the midst of the holidays and studying I managed to make some cards yesterday. These first ones are triple stamping, where you stamp over three different sizes of card.

This one is a go at a bit fancy vintage. I used Prima Engraver paper and the image is from Crafty Secrets. I really like how it turned out. You just never know if it will be good or not at the beginning.
So have a great weekend and I will post again soon :)

Not enough time...

Well, I think I mean that I should be doing other things with my time and not crafting! It seems the days go by so fast!

At the craft fair I bought 15 more copic markers and have been using them a bit (now I need to get quite a few refilled!) This top image is a new stamp I bought at the fair which begs for colouring! It was hard to put her on a card and I'm not sure I like this card, but oh well!

This next card I bought from Arnold's as a kit which had detailed instructions on colouring the image and all the card bits. So it looks great!

Also, I have been having lots of fun on Pinterest.
Do you pin? I thought it was a useless thing at first but now I love it! You can find me by clicking the link. Have a nice weekend. Tomorrow is the last day of term two so I will either be too busy to craft or ignoring everything and crafting more!!

Do I have to wait another year....

This last long weekend the Papercraft and Scrapbook expo was on and my friend Leana and I had a great time :)
So many lovely things!
I could not resist the paper stack from Graphic 45 called Secret Garden, and I got a shadow frame and this is what I made.

It was alot of fun to work with such pretty paper. There were so many beautiful displays of peoples work, very inspiring.
I also entered the Copic Card Challenge, with Copic making a $5 donation to Koala Kids for every card entered, which was such a great idea, I didn't mind not winning! And my cards all go to the foundation too. Here are a few I made ( I'm pretty sure I entered 5!)

You also may have noticed that I have no Stampin' Up! links on my blog anymore, that's because I am taking a break from demonstrating for a little while. I can still take your order up until the end of July so if you want anything just let me know.  A new catalogue will be out next month so head over to SU to have a look. Bye for now :)

Last minute Mother's Day cards

Sometimes when looking for ideas for new cards, I get so overwhelmed by the variety of them all that I get stuck and just sit not doing much! But I usually find one that looks easy and pretty and these are what I picked. I got the design of this one from Split Coast Stampers gallery. It's very Stampin Up, and very simple.

This next one I got from Australian Simply Cards which is one of my favorite card mags! They always have free things which make buying a magazine every now an then a must! This one came with this emossing folder that I have used on this card, it's very pretty.

I am going to make more cardstoday and totally ignore my study as I am very dissapointed in a low mark I just got :(
But I guess I can't be a HD student all the time!  Still...crafting will cheer me up...especially with cheesecake and icecream :)

Wait...that's not a card!

 I know!
I have had a little break from card making and have done a tiny bit of scrapbooking! I know, shocking! But I want to do family history and I want it to be worth looking at or else it just gets packed away. So these two pages are quite simple but I still like them :) They are of my Mum. They are 8" x 8" and I have used paper from Big W called Vintage Romance.

I did make one card,I felt like using my copics (it's been a while!), the girl is a Miss Anya from the Greeting Farm.
and also another box for a friend...hope she likes it!
And take a look at Stampin' Up! specials! Let me know if you would like a party.......  you can get $60 more free products!

A long overdue project....

I got this shadow box from Twiddlybitz  at last years scrapbooking and papercraft expo. So seeing as the next one is only 2 months away I thought I'd better do something with it or how can I justify spending money on more???

This is a close up of the inside. Not sure if I actually like it! But at least I finished it!

Don't look Mum!

I made this Mum card and liked it so much that special Mums will get it for mother's day! I cased the design from a British card making magazine which came with these gorgeous twenty's stamps. It is an easel card so when you pop it up you see the word Mum.

And I made this birthday card too, which is OK, not a favorite! It took me ages though! I used heat embossing on the Happy Birthday with white emboss powder, and used some perfect pearl powder for the flowers.
Now I have to study, which I have been putting off in pursuit of my favorite hobby!! I so would love to make more cards today, maybe tomorrow....

April 22, 2013

Butterflies are pretty....pretty!

So there might be a bit of a theme in some of these cards! I have been playing with my 'Pappillion Potpourri' butterfly stamps from Stampin Up. The best part is using the matching punches so I never have to cut! Occasional cutting is OK but too much means less time for making! But right now I am having difficulty not putting a butterfly on a creation!
I have also decorated three more boxes, with my favorite being the bird and butterflies. The picture doesn't capture how gorgeous it is!!

And I'm having rouble with placing these pics so forgive the crazy layout!
